love yourself

In a world that continues to define a person by the number of likes on a picture or the number of shares and followers, it has become increasingly hard to accept and love yourself. We live in a world that places priority on a person's theme rather than their self-esteem and value. And this is a problem in pretty much everyone in our society. There was a time where I also placed my self-worth on the number of followers, likes and comments I had and I continuously compared myself to people I would see while scrolling through my feed. During this time I had a large amount of toxicity within myself and this created toxic relationships with my friends and family and stopped me from pursuing things that I dreamed about because I felt like compared to these people, I was nothing. But then I went through a journey of self-discovery and nurturing. I know that sounds awfully wishy-washy and off-putting, but let me tell you, it doesn't have to be. Because this journey is yours, you ge...

Recent Buys

Holidays have been filled with work, tv shows and lots of relaxation! And here are a few recent buys that I have used to reward myself for the long days of working. There will also be a small review of each item and a rating out of 10.

"The Trusted" by John M. Green - 8/10

I bought this book at the local Sunday markets for a cheap price of $5 although I'm not sure if it's second hand because it is in pretty good condition. It follows the story of a former CIA agent named Victoria Swyft who has been accused of Eco-terrorism and being part of a group called 9S (9 sisters) and how she helps stop the devastating effects of the other members of the group. I haven't yet finished it but I am about 2/3 of the way through and I am loving it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves conspiracy and spy-themed literature. I have given it an 8/10 as it has a lot of detail that you need to pay attention to or else you could lose your way in the plot, but otherwise it is a great book.

Flowy Shirt from Romwe - 7/10

I saw this and immediately thought yes! It looked great the colours go with pretty much everything and I couldn't really think of any fault while looking at the product. The only thing is that there is only one size, so if you don't really fit the measurements then it's no good. I did worry about the condition it would be in upon arrival but when it did get here (pretty quickly as well) it was actually in great condition. The seams were perfect, it wasn't wonky and the colour wasn't off, the only bad thing is the size. It was a tad too big for me and I have had to readjust the seam so it doesn't fall off my shoulders and such.

'Rub Rub Rub' Body Scrub from Lush - 9/10

Not only does it smell and look amazing but it is so calming and perfect after a long day. It can also be used in your hair as a sort of 'volumemizer' and it is also an exfoliant. I just love this because after a long day at work I use it to massage my feet and it is so relaxing. It has a 9/10 because it is great but a tad expensive and depending on how much you use it, it can run out quickly.

Let me know what else you would like to see on the blog and hope you enjoyed!
