love yourself

In a world that continues to define a person by the number of likes on a picture or the number of shares and followers, it has become increasingly hard to accept and love yourself. We live in a world that places priority on a person's theme rather than their self-esteem and value. And this is a problem in pretty much everyone in our society. There was a time where I also placed my self-worth on the number of followers, likes and comments I had and I continuously compared myself to people I would see while scrolling through my feed. During this time I had a large amount of toxicity within myself and this created toxic relationships with my friends and family and stopped me from pursuing things that I dreamed about because I felt like compared to these people, I was nothing. But then I went through a journey of self-discovery and nurturing. I know that sounds awfully wishy-washy and off-putting, but let me tell you, it doesn't have to be. Because this journey is yours, you ge...

lately, vol. 1

Listening: "Why" by Sabrina Carpenter - "Fireflies" by Owl City - "Most Girls" by Hailee Steinfield - "Bad Liar" by Selena Gomez

Enjoying: The spring weather, warm sunny days and the fact that school is pretty much over!

Reading: To be honest the thing I have mostly been reading are my school notes. So lately I have not been reading. But, I did get "Divergent" by Veronica Roth from the library and I am waiting for school to be over so that I can dive straight in! Thanks to my lovely sister who gave me a magazine subscription for Christmas, I have been thoroughly enjoying Frankie magazine. It has the most random but entertaining things in them and it is so gorgeous just to look at. Another thing I love about it is the poster that comes in each one.

Watching: Since I do spend some time on youtube (I probably shouldn't) I saw Joey Graceffa's "Escape the Night." And since I love mysteries I decided to give it a try. I really like it and am currently watching the second season, but I don't think it is for everyone. Since the actors (other you tubers) are still themselves, it's just like watching them look for clues and do challenges but dressed up. So I would recommend it but I would understand if someone didn't enjoy it. A movie I recently watched is "Divergent" and although it did come out a while ago I still love it no matter how unlike the book it is. It's a great dystopian movie and I think a new one is coming out next year. Although being a book lover I am kind of annoyed at the ending and the fact that they are making a fourth movie when there were only three books. Another 'series' I have been watching is Buzzfeed's "Unsolved Crimes" on you tube. Some of these are super creepy and I won't watch while others are really interesting. The good thing about them is that they go for around 20 minutes and don't take up too much of your time if you have a busy schedule. They also have a bit of humor as the hosts themselves know how to lighten the mood and not make everything super eerie.

School holidays for me have just started as I have school camp on Monday-Wednesday and I am so excited. It is a sort of survival camp but we take our food and water and so on. But we are literally canoeing and walking for three days straight and everyone is going to be so tired and dead by the end.  And on top of that, we have these bags that are filled with everything we need and thankfully mine actually weighs less than everyone else's which is good.

Let me know how all of you guys are going and leave a little lately in the comments below x
